Collection: Kookaburra Perth

Australian Kookaburra silver coins from The Perth Mint, 1990 to today. The Kookaburra gets a brand-new design every year and early dates had tiny mintages, which is why collectors chase a full date run. Every coin ships from Houston, TX.

A little history

The Perth Mint struck the first silver Kookaburra in 1990, making it one of the world's oldest silver bullion series still running. The bird itself is famous for its laugh — a call so loud that early settlers used it as an alarm clock. The 1990 through mid-2000s coins are the hard ones: many years had mintages of only a few hundred thousand, and plenty were melted in the silver spikes since.
