This coin is the fifth release in the Royal Australian Mint’s popular Australia Zoo bullion series. The reverse presents detailed portraits of an adult giraffe and a young giraffe set against an African landscape. An acacia tree, distant mountains and the setting sun complete the wildlife scene.

The obverse features Dan Thorne’s effigy of King Charles III, together with the issuing country, 2024 date and $1 Australian denomination.
