Colección: Plata conmemorativa (1892-1954)
Classic United States silver commemorative coins from 1892 to 1954, struck in 90% silver to honor people, places and anniversaries in American history. Every coin ships from Houston, TX.
A little history
The U.S. commemorative tradition began with the 1892 Columbian half dollar, sold at the Chicago World's Fair to mark 400 years since Columbus's voyage. Over the next six decades the Mint struck dozens of designs, often to raise money for local celebrations. Congress ended the program in 1954 after the Carver/Washington half dollar, and it was not revived until 1982. Today these coins are prized as small pieces of American history in 90% silver.
