2010-P Tuvalu Pheidippides Marathon Run $1 1 oz Silver Proof NGC PF70

2010 Tuvalu Pheidippides’ Marathon Run 1 oz Silver Proof – NGC PF70 Ultra Cameo

Celebrate one of history’s most legendary athletic achievements with this impressive 2010 Tuvalu $1 Pheidippides’ Marathon Run Silver Proof, issued to commemorate the 2,500th anniversary of the legendary Marathon run of 490 BC.

Struck by The Perth Mint from 1 troy ounce of .999 fine silver, this high-relief proof features a dramatic depiction of Pheidippides together with the inscription “PHEIDIPPIDES’ MARATHON RUN – 2,500TH ANNIVERSARY – 490BC–2010.”

Most importantly, this example has been independently certified by NGC as PF70 Ultra Cameo — the highest numerical grade possible. PF70 indicates a coin with no post-production imperfections visible at 5x magnification, while the Ultra Cameo designation recognizes the strong contrast between the deeply mirrored fields and frosted design elements.
