Lunar Series II ran for one full zodiac cycle, from the 2008 Year of the Mouse to the 2019 Year of the Pig, with a new reverse design each year. Reverses typically show the year's animal, often with its young, together with the animal's Chinese character, the inscription 'Year of the [animal]' and the Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark. Coins were struck in 99.9% silver from 2008 to 2016 and in 99.99% silver from 2017 to 2019.
